Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 17 August 2026
Introduction
INSAAT – Listen & Reflect (“INSAAT”, “we”, “us”) is an audio streaming application for audio series, audiobooks and stories, available on the web and as an Android application (package name in.insaat.app). This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using INSAAT you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
- Account information — your mobile phone number when you sign in with a one-time passcode (OTP), or the email address, name and profile photo shared by Google or Apple if you choose those sign-in methods.
- Authentication data — one-time passcodes (stored only in hashed, short-lived form) and session tokens required to keep you signed in.
- Listening activity — playback position, favourites, recently played titles and listen counts, so you can resume where you left off.
- Ratings and reviews — any rating or review you choose to submit for a title.
- Subscription and payment information — your plan, its status and the payment/order reference returned by our payment processor. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on the payment processor’s screen and are never seen or stored by us.
- Technical data — basic request, device and error information needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
Information We Do Not Collect
The app does not collect or request access to your contacts, precise location, photo library, camera, microphone, SMS messages or call logs. We do not use advertising SDKs, we do not run third-party analytics or tracking pixels, and we do not sell your personal information.
How We Use Information
- To create, authenticate and secure your account.
- To deliver audio content and remember your playback progress and favourites.
- To activate and manage premium subscriptions and free trials.
- To display ratings and reviews within the app.
- To prevent abuse of the one-time passcode system and protect the service.
- To diagnose errors and improve reliability and performance.
How We Store and Protect Information
Your data is stored in our managed cloud database and file storage (Supabase infrastructure) with row-level access rules that restrict each record to the account it belongs to. Audio files are served from protected storage. All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS, so data is encrypted in transit. One-time passcodes are stored hashed and expire automatically.
Data Retention
We keep your account and listening data for as long as your account is active. One-time passcodes are deleted or expire within minutes. If you delete your account, your profile, listening history, favourites and reviews are removed. Payment and invoice records may be retained by us or our payment processor for the period required by tax and accounting law.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed below, strictly so they can perform their part of the service, and where we are legally required to disclose information in response to a valid legal request or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase — authentication, database and file storage.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — optional social sign-in; they share your basic profile details with us.
- Vonage — delivery of one-time passcode SMS messages to your phone number.
- Razorpay — processing of subscription and trial payments.
Each provider processes your data under its own privacy policy and only for the purpose described above.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use only essential browser storage (local storage and, where applicable, cookies) to keep you signed in and to remember playback and app preferences. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children's Privacy
INSAAT is intended for a general audience aged 13 and above and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
User Rights
You can access and update your profile details in the app, review or remove your favourites and listening history, withdraw from social sign-in by using a different sign-in method, and request a copy or correction of your personal data by contacting us. You may also delete your account at any time.
Data Deletion
INSAAT does create user accounts. To delete your account and associated data, open the app and go to Account settings and choose “Delete account”. This permanently removes your profile, phone/email identity, listening progress, favourites and reviews. You may also email support@insaat.in from your registered address, or with your registered phone number, and we will complete the deletion within 30 days. Payment records required by law are retained for the statutory period.
Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), hashed one-time passcodes, row-level database access controls, restricted storage access and server-side verification of payments and premium status. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be published on this page with a new effective date, and continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
